11 Promotional Tips for Your Business to Business Writing Website

Wondering how to write copy for your B2B writing service? Wonder no more as I discuss 11 promotional tips in this post.

Writing your own sales copy is one of the best ways to cut your writing teeth. It's a powerful way to show clients what you can do.

Let's see how you fare after incorporating these suggestions:

1. Use a bold, audacious, and promising headline. Show clients what you can offer them from the get-go. Avoid clickbait. Benefit-laden and specific headlines work best.

"This is How Your Business Can Go from Zero to 1000 Customers in 12 Months on a Limited Budget"

2. Hook them from the first line. This keeps them reading. People have short attention spans. People are drowning in information overload. Make their lives easy by making your first line creative and lively. In fact, your entire sales copy needs to be appealing to avoid boring your readers.

Rhetorical questions are powerful openers. I used a rhetorical question at the beginning of this post. Can you spot it?

3. Write for an audience of one. Use the word 'YOU' a lot. People love to be acknowledged. Your job as a writer is to figure out your audience and write as if you had just one of your dream clients in the room.

4. Address the fears and objections of clients. Figure out their pain points and show how your writing can solve their problems.

Some of the pain points of freelance writing clients are being disappointed by a writer, thinking of what to write, worrying about the acceptability of their writing, etc. Your job is to show how your writing can address these monsters.

5. Stir up the imagination. Create a picture of the end result of investing in your writing service. Let clients see this in their mind's eye.

6. Make the letter as long as possible. Your prospective clients would find the time to read. My sales copy is very long and I break the text with appropriate pictures.

7. Namedrop if you have written for big names. Brag about your expertise. It's allowed. It's a powerful way to gain trust. I once had a potential client contact me because I'd written for a client in the same industry.

8. Write like you talk. Conversational writing enables you to start sentences and end them anyhow you want. It doesn't have to be formal. Just go with the flow.

9. Improve on your believability. Share customer success stories or industry statistics to gain trust. Industry statistics work just as fine as client success stories.

10. Invoke a specific emotion with your copy. How do you want people to feel after reading your sales copy? Inspired, angry, etc, the ball is in your court.

11. Have a direct call-to-action (CTA). Lead your clients. Tell them exactly what to do to engage your writing service. People like to be led. Do you want them to send an email or call? Just tell them what to do.
